North Arkansas Regional Medical Center (NARMC), established in 1950, includes 174 beds and more than 600 employees. A comprehensive range of services is provided in modern facilities. Home Health Care assesses a patient's condition and situation and works closely with the physician to develop a care plan designed for each patient. Included are skilled nursing services, teaching the patient and family about the illness, injury or disability, assisting in development of proper diet to meet nutritional needs, planning for speech and physical therapy, providing Home Health Aide services to assist the patient and locating private pay homemaker aide services when skilled care services are not required.
The Hospice Team uses a team approach to deliver special care. Professional staff and lay volunteers provided services based on individual needs including nursing services, plain and symptom control, patient care instruction, counseling, respite care and other services and referrals.
The goal of the Claude Parrish Radiation Therapy Institute, established in 1990, is to provide a comprehensive radiation treatment center for northwest Arkansas and southern Missouri. The Center provides qualified staff and state-of-the-art equipment. The staff includes board certified radiation oncologist, radiation therapist, dosimetrist, treatment assistant, block fabricator, transcriptionist, board-certified medical physicist, radiological technologist, radiologic engineer and receptionist.
Cardiac Rehabiliation is a physician prescribed and monitored exercise and education program for heart patients who have had a heart attack, heart bypass surgery, heart "balloon surgery," or who have been treated for heart pain within the past year. Cardiac rehabilitation is provided by the Rehabilitation Services Department of North Arkansas Regional Medical Center.
Additional Services Provided By NARMC the medical center include 14-hour emergency room treatment, laser surgery, computerized axial tomography, digital radiography, nuclear medicine, ultrasonography, a vascular lab, ultrasonic and hydraulic lithotripsy, and a recuperation center.

Hillcrest Nursing Center, owned by Boone County, has been leased to and operated by a mission board of the Mennonite Church since 1953. The Area Health Education Center at Harrison (AHEC-NW) is a community partnership with AHEC-NW at Fayetteville, North Arkansas College, North Arkansas Regional Medical Center, Boone County Hometown Health Improvement Coalition and other community partners. It is the first branch AHEC of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences' state AHEC system. The center provides quality, convenient and affordable healthcare education programs and services to the healthcare providers, healthcare professionals, and citizens of northwest Arkansas and the surrounding region.
Boone County was selected in 1998 to pilot the Hometown Health Improvement Project sponsored by the Arkansas Department of Health. This initiative was created to assist communities in assuming ownership of their own unique health problems and encourage citizens to assess their community and work together to solve the problems they identified.
